Dear Diary,

So remember at the end of last week when I ran into Gulliver on the beach and would have to wait until the start of this week to find out what he sent me? Well, he didn’t send me anything! I was confused until I realized I still had the communicator parts in my pockets! Oops! I guess someone else helped rescue him because I totally blew it! I did keep the rusted parts they’d turned into, because you never know when they might come in handy. Hoarding is an art! Anyway, let’s just move past that and get to this week where I met our new neighbor!

Okay, I don’t know what I was expecting from someone named Muffy, but I have to say that a cool goth sheep wasn’t even a possibility! If I’m being completely honest, I would have liked whoever replaced Reneé to have a different personality just to change things up a bit, but Muffy seems alright.

Normally, when someone moves to the island, it takes a few days before you can catch them at home to check out how they live. They always seem to be out exploring their new home. But with Muffy, she was at home the very next day so I got to see inside and she’s clearly very into sewing! And as I left and went outside, I found a notebook on the ground so I just popped back in to see if Muffy knew whose it was. And to my surprise, it actually belonged to her! Of course, it’s only the very first favor I’ve done for her, so I just got a cypress plant to say thanks.

Then we had a camper, and Boyd was kind of intimidating, though I guess he’s probably just a gentle giant. Still, with Muffy having just moved in, there’s no more room on the island for him.

And finally, Genji looked upset so I asked what was the matter and he admitted he’d had a fight with Kitt. Now, I can’t even imagine those two having a conversation, let alone a fight, but I was happy to help smooth things over between them. Genji gave Kitt a kid’s smock which I honestly thought was kind of plain and boring but it didn’t look awful, so I gave Kitt my seal of approval and she agreed to make nice. She gave me a jockey uniform for my trouble, but I still feel like in these cases, you’re really doing the favor for the person you’re delivering for, not to. Still, even if it doesn’t make Kitt like me that much more, it can’t hurt, right?
