Dear Diary,

This week, Xanadu had a couple of visitors and I had some disappointment. So… nothing new, really!

I was pleased to see Celia at home so soon after moving in. I feel like usually when people move to the island, they end up being out and about for a really long time before I can catch them inside to see how their house is decorated. I rather like Celia’s. It’s very cozy and also bright and summery, which is appropriate for island living. And it’ll make a nice oasis once it gets chilly and starts snowing!

The week also kicked off with a camper, and I have to say that Freckles was pretty adorable. Shame Celia just moved in, or I would have tried to convince her to move here… even though it hardly ever works when I try that. They either turn me down flat (most of the time) or challenge me to a game that I then lose (the rest of the time).

Then just a few days later, we had another camper! Xanadu must have been written up somewhere to get this many visitors. Anyway, Groucho wasn’t as cute as Freckles, but I could see him being a good neighbor. He seems kind of crotchety, which I always appreciate.

I found a bag that was clearly full of sweaty sports gear, and I happened to be by Ace’s, so I checked in with him, first. Unfortunately, I was unable to do him a friendship-building favor because the bag belonged to Genji. Sigh. And what’s more, when I went to talk to him, he immediately started going on about his lost bag and asking if I would help find it. Of course I told him I would and then literally just handed it to him. Now that’s service! (He gave me a delivery jacket to say thanks.)

By the end of the week, I went to check on my boyfriend at home and found him seriously under the weather. Oh, as I write this, it reminds me that the next time I’m in Nook’s Cranny I have to stock up on some medicine. After helping out Lopez (and getting a paisley bandanna in exchange), I only have one left in my pockets. And I always like to make sure I have medicine on hand for just these kind of occasions.

And finally, I was out later in the evening and happened to come across Celeste in her usual haunt at the highest point on my island. (Guess it has the best views.) Unfortunately, I still didn’t get a recipe off her. Just some more star fragments. Which I just went and sold because I already have more than I need. (Just don’t tell her I did that!)
