Dear Diary,

Well, it was a great week on Xanadu! I got two things I’ve been waiting for forever, met someone new, and kept a friendship from falling apart. Oh, and in case you were curious, yes, replacing my glowing moss jar with the lucky cat from Gulliver did actually drop my HRA score by like, 1,000 points or something. Not a big deal, but still interesting. I’m still S rank, though!

So Saturday I made sure to participate in the Bug-Off and while in the first couple rounds, I only got enough points for another spider doorplate and toy centipede, Flick eventually informed me that I had earned over 300 points so I would get a special reward!

And sure enough, the following day, he mailed me my gold Bug-Off trophy to commemorate my accomplishment. Go me! Although his letter read: “To the bug-favored Chris, Thanks for participating in the Bug-Off! You scored at least 300 points, so I’ve included your prize! Your journey towards True Infestation is almost complete!” Which kind of makes it sound like there’s another level with like, a platinum trophy or something. But I’ve never heard of such a thing. I think then that True Infestation is just a mental thing. (And one I’m not sure I want to achieve!)

This week, Apollo told me he was considering making a big move. Meaning off the island. I shut that line of thinking down quickly. He hasn’t been here long and even though I didn’t personally invite Apollo to Xanadu, I was delighted when he just showed up randomly since he’s an old friend from way back. So I’d like him to stick around a while longer.

I had given Renée that spider doorplate I won in the Bug-Off, and she even hung it on her front door, so I guess she liked it. And then a few days later, she came running over to me and insisted that we hang out together. At my house, of course. I agreed, because I’m trying to cement our friendship, and as I was giving her a tour of my home, I got a great surprise!

Instead of giving me a piece of fruit or clothing as a gift for inviting her in, Renée gave me her picture! Score! I was so happy that I didn’t even mind showing her all the other rooms in my house and then hanging out upstairs for a while. (It wasn’t a quick visit is what I’m saying…)

Then later that same day, I discovered that the bag I found laying on the ground belonged to Ace! He was so grateful that when he went to give me a thank-you gift, for a hot second I almost wondered what if he gave me his picture as well! I could have a two fer! Unfortunately, he just gave me a rice cooker, so I guess I still have some work to do with Ace.

At the end of the week, we had a camper, so I went to say hello and welcome them to Xanadu. Claudia is a little bit fabulous and I kind of enjoyed her, but there’s no room on the island right now. Oh well!

And finally, Sasha asked me to deliver a present to Lopez because they were in a fight and he wanted to make things right. Lopez opened up a vertical stripe shirt and tried it on and I had to admit he looked good in it. So he agreed he should apologize. I can’t have my neighbors at war with each other!
