Dear Diary,

This week was somewhat educational as I learned a new trick that ended up not being super helpful in the end, got a weird new nickname, and got some new reactions for my arsenal. Read on, MacDuff!

So it turned out Gullivarrr sent me a Pirate-treasure robe which is super snazzy and awesome and I basically put it on and never took it off all week. I just wish I had a swanky pirate hat or something to complete the look. Maybe next time!

Unfortunately, when I went back that evening for my K.K. Slider request, the small audience that had been there all afternoon suddenly up and left. Was it something I said? My deodorant? I was grateful that while I was chatting with K.K. Slider, Genji showed up so I didn’t have to stand there and boogie all by myself. That gets awkward. Also, “K.K. D&B” is a bit better live, in case you were wondering.

I haven’t learned a reaction in quite some time but now that Kitty has arrived, I learned two in this one week! First she taught me to look amazed, and later in the week she taught me the intense reaction. (Though honestly, it doesn’t look particularly intense to me, but whatever…) Maybe you can only learn so many reactions from one person so in order to complete the list, you need to get new blood on the island? Because there’s still a couple blank slots I need to fill…

After complaining about how hard it was to find pine cones and acorns among all the sticks and wasps, a friend informed me that you can actually shake a tree multiple times and get lots of items from it. I had no idea! I thought it was one per tree. But it turns out that you can shake a tree a whole bunch of times and get a whole bunch of stuff. Unfortunately, it still ends up being 99% sticks, just from one tree instead of spread out over all of them. Less wasps this way, though!

Because of all the wasps, I’ve been making sure to carry medicine on me at all times, so when I popped in to visit Apple and found her under the weather, I was able to immediately offer her some instead of having to go buy it and coming all the way back. She gave me a jockey uniform to say thanks, but I don’t even know how to ride a horse!

Okay, Frita looks absolutely bonkers and anyone who would wear a hamburger hat and a hot dog top is someone I would like to find out more about. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any empty slots so Frita had to just enjoy her one day on Xanadu. Oh well!

Lopez decided he was bored with calling me “rutabaga” because he’d come up with something so much more awesome. If I’m being totally honest, I don’t really care for “DJ CHR” but it’s just weird enough that I’ll roll with it and see if it catches on. Also, I can’t say no to Lopez…

Redd came by again this week and he had a Solemn Painting I’ve had my eye on for quite a while. And this one appeared genuine, so I took the plunge. And it turned out to be the actual Las Meninas by Diego Valázquez! I like it because there is a lot going on in this painting.

Finally all my ignoring has paid off, at least where Coach is concerned. He admitted he was on the fence about whether or not to move and try to get swole somewhere else, so I pushed him right off that fence and said good luck. As you might recall, when I first encountered Coach on that deserted island I thought he seemed amusing and invited him to move into the empty plot on my island. Unfortunately, he turned out to be extremely one-note and I got bored of his constant jock talk almost immediately. But I wish him well!

At the end of this week, it was Gulliver himself who washed ashore. So come back next week to find out what present he gives me for helping him put his stupid phone back together so he can call for help! Hope it’s something good!
