Dear Diary,

It was a mostly quiet week on Xanadu, but there was also a major exit. And I was hoping for a major new addition, but I was stymied once again! Dangit!

At the beginning of the week, I noticed Sasha’s lights were on at home and since I hadn’t seen him in a few days, decided to check on him. Good thing I did, because he was seriously sick and in need of some medicine. (Which I naturally always keep on my person for just such occasions!)

I saw Renée deep in thought and when I offered her a penny for them, she admitted she was thinking about leaving the island. And since I already have her picture now, I wished her luck. I liked her, but I never quite took to her like some of my other friends. No offense, Renée!

And then the very next day, we had a camper. And he turned out to be kind of awesome. Gruff had stylish facial hair and seemed pretty cool. Although as I kept talking to him, all he seemed to want to do was play games. He never talked about anything else. Eventually he started yammering on about camping (and gave me the impression he was one of those snack-loving personalities) but never about wanting to live on Xanadu.

Eventually, after a couple of visits, Gruff did mention how the island felt like home, so I invited him to move in. (Even though I’m not sure he can just take Renée’s slot since she’s still in there packing up and it won’t technically be vacant until tomorrow.) Turns out I didn’t have to worry. I had thought he’d challenge me to another card game to see if he’d move in, but nope. Gruff just turned me down flat. Rude.

Then, at the end of the week, I found Gulliver washed ashore on the beach again. I give Gullivarrr a pass when I see him because he seems to have run out of new items to reward me with but Gulliver still seems to have some variety left so I will still help him out. I’m selfish that way. I’m sure someone else on the island will help Gullivarrr out or at least just wake him up so he doesn’t drown when the tide comes in. But what will Gulliver send me as a reward for helping him get back to his crew this time? Have to wait and find out next week!
