Dear Diary,

Lopez was extra needy this week, but I still found time to learn a couple of new things and do a little work while I was at it!

So I found a book on the ground and unfortunately it turned out to belong to Lopez. So no cementing friendship with any of my newer friends… He was thrilled to get it back and thanked me with an extra bidet he had lying around. Which is… curious.

We also had a camper at the beginning of the week, and Hornsby seemed like someone I would enjoy hanging out with. The name’s a bit on the nose, so to speak, but he seemed cool enough.

A couple of days after I returned Lopez’s book, I checked in on him again and found him seriously ill. As always, I had some medicine on my for just this kind of situation and happily handed some over to help him recover. As my reward, I got his old balloon hat. I need some of my newer friends to have problems so I can be a better friend to them! Stop monopolizing me, Lopez!

This week, it was Muffy’s turn to think about moving away. But again, I still don’t have her picture, so she’s not going anywhere until I get it. I don’t know what it is about these newer residents that they are being so stingy with their pictures. I am an awesome friend!

When Kitt invited me over to her place, I happily accepted. Played a little piano and we played a game of high card, low card. Which I won, earning a coverall coat. But on my way out, did I get Kitt’s picture? I did not. Just a conductor’s cap. Sigh.

I had some extra time that day so I went to see if I could do a little work at Paradise Planning. I was expecting to do a quick house for someone but Lottie revealed that we could do a new facility, giving me the choice between a restaurant on Main Street or a beachfront cafe. I went with the cafe because I thought it would be less work.

I was wrong. I wanted it to look nice so I ended up spending quite a bit of time on it. I struggled to come up with a name but since Jacques was one of the employees, I decided he was the owner and named it Cafe Jaques. (I know, I spelled his name wrong. Oops!)

Once it was done, we all posed outside for a group photo. I just love now Niko gets so much air! Oh, and while I was on the island, I also found a bottle washed ashore that contained a new DIY recipe I didn’t already have, for a rope-net wall! Score!

Then, the next day, I found a DIY recipe for a wooden music box on Xanadu! I’m surprised there are still DIY recipes out there I don’t already have! I mean, on the Paradise Planning island, sure. That’s new. But on my island? Bit of a surprise. I crafted one and wrapped it up to send to Kitt. I think it would look nice in her house and maybe I’ll get her picture in return? Probably not, but it’s nice to still live with some hope!
