Wootini’s Weekly Animal Crossing Diary 9/12/20
September is off to a slightly frustrating start. I’m trying not to let it bother me but it still kind of is. Oh well… let me explain!
I continue to catch the occasional new fish or bug, and let me tell you, this gigas giant clam led me on a helluva chase! But I wasn’t giving up, so I kept after it and eventually snagged it. If only I could hold my breath longer… Anyway, you’d think a giant clam wouldn’t be able to move that fast!
This week, there was a decent crowd when I went to request a song from K.K. Slider, and I went with “K.K. Oasis,” which is what I was going to request last week when I completely spaced and forgot to go to the show.
I finally got the final pine cone I needed to craft the Tree’s Bounty Little Tree DIY Isabelle gave me ages ago. I’ve gotten a couple more seasonal DIY’s from balloons, but I don’t have the materials needed to make either of them. It took a couple weeks just to get this much!
Because as I’ve discovered, pine cones and acorns seem to be extremely rare. I keep shaking trees but it’s mostly fallen branches, then wasps. So many wasps! Occasionally I’ll get coins, and I’ve even gotten furniture items to fall before pine cones and acorns. Constantly getting stung is making me not want to shake trees anymore, especially because I never actually get any acorns or pine cones. I tried waiting a few days and letting them grow back or whatever but that didn’t help either. It’s kind of ruining this new season since I can’t make any of the DIYs without materials. Heck, I even tried using some Nook Miles to visit a deserted island but there were no acorns or pine cones to be found there, either. I hope everyone else is having the same problem and it’s not because my island is cursed or something!
Snake showed up to camp on the island and I was super excited to see him. Unfortunately, I don’t have any open spaces for him to move to Xanadu. Although he’s really cool, he’s also a jock, and I’ve already got a couple of those right now. If he wanted to kick out Coach, that would be great. But I’m afraid he’d kick out someone like Genji. Or Lopez. Or Apple… Can’t risk it!
Redd parked his shabby ship out back again this week and I decided to go with this Moody Painting since I’d heard it was always genuine. It looked legit enough to me, so I risked it. And lo and behold, it did turn out to actually be The Sower by Jean-Francois Millet. Yay!
Gullivarrr washed ashore at the end of the week, and I managed to find his phone in the ocean pretty quickly. I’m hoping I get more pirate clothes, but we’ll have to wait until next week’s entry to find out what my reward is!
