Wootini’s Weekly Animal Crossing Diary 8/21/21
Dear Diary,
Wow, this was a really busy week on Xanadu, so let’s not waste any more time and just get right to it!
To start with, I bought something through the Nook Shopping app on my Nook Phone and suddenly got Nook Miles for doing so. I guess I’ve bought 200 things over the phone… It’s been a while since I’ve gotten one of these Nook Miles rewards, I’d almost forgotten about them! (Not that I use my Nook Miles ever, but I still like getting rewards… who doesn’t?)
Sherb admitted he was thinking about moving away and I shut that down on the quickfast. No way is he going now. I let Clay go, so I only have Sherb as my bug-loving weirdo on the island. Also, I need some of the newbies to go first because I don’t like them as much as I do folks like Sherb. Sorry, buddy. Maybe another time!
Oh, that thing I bought through the app that got me the Nook Miles reward? It was this cucumber horse, which I totally already thought I had but when I looked in my inventory, I did not. Unless it’s already out on display somewhere in my house, but that seems unlikely! It’s super weird-looking and kind of makes me hungry. And the Obon Festival is over now anyway, but I’ll leave it out for a little while longer.
You’d think there were no new DIY recipes to learn after all this time but you’d be wrong! I found Lopez crafting a stone wall and for some reason, I didn’t already have that one! Usually the two daily DIY recipes are ones I’ve had for ages. But to my surprise, there are still some out there I don’t have yet!
Del set up camp on Xanadu this week and while he seemed cool, he never expressed any interest in moving to the island. He just wanted to play games. Oh well. If he’d given me even the slightest hint he was interested, I would have invited him (and then hoped he kicked out someone I wouldn’t mind losing!).
Redd swung by later in the week and at first glance, I thought I already had all the art he was trying to flog but then I realized I didn’t have the Quaint Painting after all. The one I’d had before had been a fake. And this time, he was selling the genuine article! So now my museum has The Milkmaid by Johannes Vermeer. It’s lovely.
This week was my boyfriend’s birthday and I wasn’t quite sure what to get as his gift. I felt like it should be something special. But then I saw a pants press for sale and immediately knew it was just the thing! Lopez is always a well-dressed goat. Of course, if I’d given it a little more thought I would have remembered that he never wears pants… but he seemed to like it anyway!
At the very end of the week, Gulliver washed ashore and I helped him get back to his crew… again. Sigh. As you might recall, the last time I rescued him, he rewarded me with the DIY recipe for the gold shovel. Which I took to mean he’d reached the end of the possible rewards. So we’ll just have to wait until next week to see what I get this time! A repeat? A color or design variation on something I already have? Ooh, it’s so exciting!
