Wootini’s Weekly Animal Crossing Diary 8/2/25

Dear Diary,

This week, Ace was causing some trouble which seemed unlike him. But he was the common thread in both arguments, so… Thankfully, things calmed down by the end of the week, when Broffina turned out to be a lot weirder than I thought she was.

So things kicked off with Apple telling me that she and Ace had gotten into an argument over fashion, and asked me to deliver a present to him. I’m always happy to help, even though I feel like this is a favor for the person asking for the delivery, not the recipient. So I don’t think it will really help my friendship with Ace.

However, when it turned out that Apple had gifted Ace with a pink baby romper, I realized that she was totally punking him and he had no idea. So I told him it looked great, and he thanked me by handing over an old dotted raincoat. Thanks, but seeing you look ridiculous is reward enough, Ace!

Then, literally the next day, Patty was also fighting with Ace over fashion. Why is Ace starting all these fights? He prefers workout clothes, which are not exactly high fashion. Anyway, I think Patty took some advice from Apple on how to deal with Ace.

See, Patty’s apology gift was a garden tank, which, while not quite as ridiculous as the baby romper, still looked silly enough on Ace. Not that he seemed to notice. Guess he’s just that confident! Anyway, he thanked me with a madras plaid shirt and I went on my merry way.

Later in the week, Lopez was deep in thought and I feared he was trying to move away again but it turned out that he had just thought up a new nickname. I was never crazy about “hashtag” because it felt too trendy for an old guy like me. But “slick” is much more my speed. Very traditional.I like it! Now, let’s hope this one spreads as quickly as “tater tot” did…

Turns out that it was Camofrog who was the one contemplating leaving the island. He’s still too new to have given me his picture, but I honestly don’t even care about his picture. I can’t imagine this island without another cranky old dude on it, so I had to ask Camofrog to stick around. He agreed to stay a bit longer, so I’ll probably have to beg again in another month or so.

And finally, Broffina was part of a trio of weirdos singing in front of the Town Hall, and I saw that she was infested. But after I caught the flea and she thanked me (while also begging me to keep quiet about the whole thing), I chatted with her again and she noticed the flea I had on me and asked if she could buy it off me for 140 bells. Seriously? I guess she got so attached to that flea while it was hopping around on her body that she decided she wanted to keep it as a pet. Well, who am I to deny someone their dream? You enjoy, Broffina!
