Dear Diary,

Honestly, this week was super quiet! I never saw any of the fish or bugs I was still trying to find, and it rained one day and poured the next, so it wasn’t a whole lot of fun walking around the island. And I didn’t learn or discover anything new. But that said, it was very relaxing not having too much to worry about!

So remember that random encounter I had with Celeste at the end of last week where she gave me a DIY recipe for a space shuttle? Well, as I said, there were no shooting stars to wish on, so I had to go in my storage to pull out some fragments to craft it. However, when I went to add it to my already overcrowded space corner, it turns out it’s super tiny. Nothing in this collection is to scale, Celeste. Also, it doesn’t float like some of the others. It just sort of lays sadly on the ground. Lame. (At least the top panels open up to show the inside!)

I can’t even tell you how proud I was that I remembered to wait until the evening again on Sunday to do my rounds so I could finish at the same time the fireworks show began! And this time I made a point of sticking around to see all my custom fireworks designs I’ve submitted to Isabelle in the past. I haven’t made anything new to add. Maybe I should before the summer ends!

Isabelle gave me a glowy heart bopper to wear and I did Redd’s raffle a few times to see what I could get. I got a bubble blower, so I enjoyed that for as long as it lasted, plus a pinwheel.

I also got a pink balloon, so I enjoyed carrying that around while I watched for the custom fireworks and then sat next to Renée on the bench in the plaza holding my balloon as we watched the show with everyone else. Hope my balloon didn’t block Robin’s view!

The only other thing of note that happened this week was in the middle of it, I found Ace deep in thought and he admitted he was thinking about moving out. He just tried this recently and I turned down his request, so why would he think it would work this time around? I told him he’d be sticking around a bit longer, and he actually seemed happy to stay, so that’s good. I haven’t seen him in decades, so I want to enjoy his company for a while. Sorry, Ace! Shouldn’t have stayed away so long!
