Dear Diary,

Big doings in Xanadu this week. I had a couple major achievements, said goodbye to one friend and welcomed a new one! Oh, and I think I might have some competition for Lopez’s heart… What to do, what to do…

Happily, the Jolly Painting I bought from shady Redd was actually the genuine article and Blathers happily accepted “Summer” by Giuseppe Arcimboldo for display at the museum. The empty art section still makes me sad so I wish Redd would come by more often, but what can you do?

I got a silver HHA trophy in the mail as I guess I finally have some decorations that the Happy Home Academy likes. Who can tell with those folks? I made Rank S again but this time I had 112,737 points, so for making a six digit score, I got the trophy. Unfortunately, the mantelpiece only holds two so I guess when I get the gold one (if I get the gold one) I’ll have to make some choices!

I have to admit I was slightly surprised when Opal admitted she was thinking of moving away. I mean, I like her and all, but I guess I wasn’t really as chatty with her as I am with some of the others. I thought about asking her to stick around but decided not to be a jailer this time around and let her make her own decision. So I wished her well on her travels.

Gulliver washed up on the beach again this week and once again I dug up his stupid little phone parts. But much to my surprise, instead of another stupid hat, he actually sent me this relatively awesome Stonehenge! Very excited to display something cool on the island finally. That expression on my face is supposed to be pride, but it does kind of look angry, doesn’t it?

Rizzo taught me the Worry Reaction, which was the only one I learned this week. I know there aren’t many left, but come on — where is the love reaction? I need that one so I can do my special photo shoot with Lopez!

Once Opal was packing to leave I decided to use some Nook Miles to buy a ticket to a random mini island and see if I could run into anyone cool. Coach is clearly a jock type, which I don’t necessarily need on Xanadu, but he seemed pretty cool so I invited him to move in. He does seem slightly aggressive, so I hope I don’t regret it later!

The very next day, of course, there was a camper on the island and I was so worried that it would be someone awesome and I missed my chance to invite them instead. Pancetti seems a little snooty but okay, so I guess I’m not too upset. Phew!

I have to admit I was a little put out when Lopez turned out to be hanging around my home just so he could ask me to deliver a present to Genji. Seriously? You’re supposed to be my boyfriend, Lopez. What’s with giving gifts to other guys… and asking me to deliver them? Rude. Interestingly, because it was later in the day, Lopez told me that I could deliver it tomorrow if I liked. That’s new. Usually it has to get done that day or else.

So I went over to Genji’s and gave him the present, which turned out to be a shorts outfit. But honestly, it looked kind of weird on him and I told him so. He gave me the chance to backpedal and say it was okay, actually, but I couldn’t lie to him. So Genji changed back out of it and gave me a football shirt as a thank you. I went back to Lopez who wanted to know how it went. I told him it wasn’t great, and Lopez decided that since Genji had tried it on, he’d come to love it eventually. Seriously? Sigh. I’m gonna have to have some words with Genji to back off my guy…

At the end of the week, Label was back again for more fashion experimentation. She said she was looking for a party look, but then she gave me a morning coat so she was clearly imagining a fancy party, not a club rave. Ha! So I went back to my house and put on some flashy pants, business shoes, a monocle and a top hat, which proved just the thing. This time I got a Labelle coat, which means I got the look just right, even if it’s too warm to wear it right now.
