Wootini’s Weekly Animal Crossing Diary 6/4/22

Dear Diary,
It was a good week on Xanadu full of learning new things and making new discoveries. While also keeping a friend from abandoning me quite so soon!

I learned a bunch of new recipes this week, which surprised me because I kind of thought I’d learned all there was to learn. But I found a recipe for snack bread in a bottle on the beach, then Lopez taught me how to make apple jelly (which I honestly totally thought I had the recipe for already), and finally, Sasha showed me how to make cake salé. (Which, by the way, shouldn’t be called cake if it’s going to have carrots and potatoes in it… yuck!)

We had a camper this week, and I was surprised to see Bunnie almost as much as it looks like she was surprised to see me! Maybe she’s just easily startled like my husband. Anyway, I was a little star-struck because she’s kind of famous. I even have a stuffed toy of her! She’s like, O.G. A.C., if you know what I mean.

Coco told me she was thinking about moving off the island, so I had to ask her to stay. Thankfully, she agreed to stick around a bit longer. I’m not quite done with her yet!

I didn’t do a whole lot of island hopping this week, but I did stumble across another green island full of moss and vines. And I learned a DIY recipe for a vine outfit. And I just so happened to have collected enough vines on this trip to craft it, so I figured why not? Of course, after trying it on, I can see exactly why not. It’s… not the most fashionable statement piece, is it?

This week also brought the beginning of a new month, and another event. I was totally confused when I stepped out of my house and my phone started ringing. Harvey told me it’s time to help take wedding photos for Reese and Cyrus, but honestly, I don’t know if I’ll bother. I don’t know if there’s any more rewards I need to collect from them. I’m sure there’s nothing new. But I supposed I should check and see if there’s anything I don’t have yet…

A new month also means a new letter from Mom. “My dear Chris,” she wrote. “Fireflies light up the night sky, taking my mind off the stresses of the day. As I watch, amazed and distracted, the mosquitos make their move. I’m terribly itchy. — Mom” And inside the package she included another of Mom’s handmade aprons. This one is pink with vegetables on it. Not my fave. I still prefer the quilted-looking one. But I never turn down a gift from Mom!

At the end of the week, I saw a double-edged sword on sale at Nook’s Cranny and couldn’t resist. Of course, I had to go take some bells out of the bank to buy it because it costs $130,000 bells! It would be cooler if it was stuck in a rock, but I thought it still makes a nice statement right at the entrance to my island. Just don’t go pulling it out and thinking you’re king because I’m the only king around here!
