Dear Diary,

I was kind of rushed off my feet this week running all over the island for one reason or another. I need a vacation! But how do you take a vacation from an island paradise? Do you go to the big city and work in an office?

So remember the other week when Lopez decided he wanted to call me “hashtag” and I hoped that nickname wouldn’t spread around the island because it was weird and overly trendy? Well… I did not get my wish. At least it kind of makes sense that Apple would latch onto that particular nickname!

I was a little put out when Ace told me he was pondering leaving the island. He was one of my first friends in my first village and I’ve loved him forever but it wasn’t until recently that he was able to move to one of my later homes. So I wanted to keep him around for a while anyway but for whatever reason, even though he’s been here ages, we’re still not BFFs and I still don’t have his picture. It’s mystifying… But that just means Ace isn’t going anywhere yet!

Sigh. So just a couple of days after I reluctantly told Apple to go ahead and start calling me “hashtag,” Lopez decided that “hashtag” was so last week and came up with a new nickname. And what’s worse is that “maestro” is actually kind of awesome! Why couldn’t Apple have waited and picked that one instead? And of course, because I actually like “maestro,” it’s not going to spread around at all, I bet.

I checked in on Kitt during the week and found her miserably sick. As always, I keep some medicine on me for just such an occasion, so I was able to help her get fixed up right quick. And while I would have loved for this good deed to be finally inspire her to reward me with her picture, I just got a cook’s coat.

Apple was on fire this week. First, she found something for Robin but was too shy to bring it to her so she asked me to deliver it for her. Does Apple have a crush on Robin? Anyway, I brought the gift to Robin and it turned out to be a racing outfit. Totally not Robin’s style, but whatever. She seemed to like it. And she gave me a pair of denim overalls to say thanks.

At the end of the week, I found a bag on the ground that had some sporty stuff in it, but unfortunately it didn’t belong to Ace, who I would have loved to have done another favor for. It was Genji’s, and he thanked me with a layered polo shirt. Hey, it’s still a good idea to keep Genji sweet so he doesn’t try to move away again!

We also had a camper, and it was delightful to see Rosie again, even if she didn’t seem to remember me. That’s okay. It’s not like we were the best of friends anyway. I can’t even remember which village we lived in together because I don’t think it was for very long. I wonder if she knows she’s been immortalized in LEGO?

Finally, just one day after she went shopping for Rosie, Apple admitted she and Ace had argued over fashion. And honestly, if she thinks a racing outfit is Rosie’s kind of thing, I would have to question Apple’s taste in fashion myself. But I’m not trying to start anything. I’m trying to squash beef on the island. So I delivered a music-fest shirt to Ace, and he seemed thrilled by it so he and Apple can be friends again. Unfortunately, I didn’t get Ace’s picture, just a fitness tank. Sigh. You know, if I could actually get a picture every now and then, maybe I wouldn’t be so obsessed with getting them all the time. Just a thought… Ace. (and Kitt, and Rosie…)
