Dear Diary,

This was a pleasantly quiet week on Xanadu with hardly any drama at all. And this time, I learned from my mistakes so I wouldn’t repeat them!

So remember when Francine decided to start calling me “hun” at the beginning of June? And how I decided it would be okay for her to use it but I didn’t want it to catch on because it would sound weird coming from certain other people? Well, Genji heard about it and wanted to use it, too. Sigh. He’s one of the ones it sounds weird coming from! (But I wasn’t in the mood to think of something else for him to say so I just let it go. Hopefully it won’t last too long!)

Redd swung by the island again this week and I was determined not to blow it this time. I knew some of the art he had was stuff I already had in the museum but there was a glowing painting I wasn’t sure of. So I made a point of checking and when I realized I did not have this work of art already, I quickly snatched it up. So now the Xanadu museum is the proud home of “The Fighting Temeraire” by Joseph Mallord William Turner. It’s actually quite pretty. I really like this one. Gorgeous colors!

We had a camper this week as well and I was actually kind of relieved to see that it was just Stitches. Sure, Stitches is super cute, but I’ve known him for years and he’s been my neighbor more than once in the past. (Not that he ever remembers me…) So I was happy it wasn’t someone I’d actually want to move to Xanadu because I’m afraid of who they might try to kick out!

I guess I should be grateful that Diva didn’t want to use “hun” as well? (Although to be fair, it would actually sound fine coming from her.) “Chief” isn’t great, but it’s better than most, so I told her it would be fine to call me that. Makes me feel important!

At the end of the week, Gullivarrr showed up on my beach but I didn’t wake him up right away. My pockets were quite full so I decided it was better to empty them first, then I could kick him awake and go diving for his phone in the ocean. Can’t wait to see what I get as a reward, although lately it’s been a lot of clothing items I’ve already got… Maybe he’s run out of new things to give me? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
