Wootini’s Weekly Animal Crossing Diary 6/22/19
Dear Diary,
We had a couple of events in town this week but the big event was me making a difficult decision that I hope I don’t regret!
Things kicked off with another Bug-Off, and I happened to see a tiger butterfly floating around nearby so I caught it so I could at least participate. I wasn’t expecting much, and then Nat basically told me my butterfly was completely and utterly meh.
But even though he determined it was only worth 42 points, I still took first place so far, which is a bit sad. Although I suppose it was kind of early in the day so people hadn’t really gotten started properly. Anyway, I got a polka-dot low table because it wasn’t enough points to earn a special Bug-Off item even though I broke the current record. Darn rules!
The next day I found a silver trophy in my mailbox and when I checked the bulletin board, Nana had beaten my score pretty well, and Butch was closing in. Not bad for just half-assing the whole thing!
Sunday was also Father’s Day, and Dad sent me a letter to check in on me. I’ll have to reply soon to let him know everything’s great. You’d think once I became mayor of a town they’d stop worrying about me. But I guess parents never stop worrying about their kids. He also included some red carnations, which I added to the massive spread of carnations all around my home.
I found a little bag laying on the ground and after asking around it turned out to belong to Gabi, who was so delighted that I found her pouch that she rewarded me with a red grid shirt. It’s been a while since I changed up my look so I decided to go with it. I should probably get myself some shorts at some point soon. Summer is starting!
Nana told me she wanted to move away at the end of the month and like I said last week, now that I know I’m not leaving myself until March of next year, it feels wrong to keep these people prisoner in my town that long. And Nana is one of the few that I would be okay saying goodbye to. So I did. I haven’t let anyone go in so long that it felt really weird. But she’s been here ages and I have her picture, so… good luck, Nana.
The next day, I found Pate camping in town and although he didn’t remember me, I remembered him from my last town. He’s a delight. Unfortunately, Nana hadn’t moved out yet so there was no room for him but it made me feel better about letting Nana leave. A fresh face could be fun! (As long as it’s someone awesome who will fit in here in Geneva!)
Anchovy came up with a pretty good nickname so I told him to definitely start calling me that and I really hope it catches on around town. “Chap” makes me feel like we’re living in England!
At the end of the week, Tiffany asked me to bring something to Gabi for her and was so nervous and secretive about the whole thing I wondered what could possibly be in the package. Stolen goods? Drugs? The mind boggles!
Of course, when I found Gabi wandering around and slipped her the package, it turned out to just be an ivy wall that Gabi had asked Tiffany to buy for me. Um, okay? That was a whole lot of weirdness just to give me a present. And one I didn’t really want anyway. But hey, it keeps things interesting, right? Who doesn’t love a bit of mystery?
The end of the week also brought the summer solstice celebration. Once again, Isabelle handed out ladder shades, and I wish she would change it up a bit. She also needs to realize that these are not the height of fashion. In fact, I don’t think they were even back six years ago when she first started handing them out! But it is nice to have sunlight all day so even if I visit town in the evening, it feels like the middle of the afternoon. Creepy, but fun!
