Wootini’s Weekly Animal Crossing Diary 6/14/25

Dear Diary,

I don’t think it’s technically summer yet, but it’s getting pretty warm on the island, which is why Sherb was spending all afternoon in Nook’s Cranny, surely annoying the twins as he kept “just looking” all day long. It was actually a pretty quiet week on Xanadu, with just one real major event… a decision that I made that I very quickly regretted. Let me explain…

So remember at the end of last week when Kitt came over for a visit and I was hoping that maybe she’d send me her picture with her thank you card since she’s been around for ages and I’ve done her a million favors? Well, naturally, that didn’t happen. Sigh… I just got a sheep costume. Seriously? Rude.

In the middle of the week, Vesta told me she was thinking about moving away and I wished her well. But then as I walked away, I suddenly regretted my decision. She really only just got here, and I usually let people stick around for a while before I let them go. But I never got too attached to Vesta, so I was like, bye! And then I very quickly realized why I should have asked her to stick around just a bit longer.

We had a camper that same day, and while Egbert was that dopey kind of villager I enjoy a great deal, Vesta hadn’t even packed up so I don’t know if I could have even tried to invite him to move here and take her place. I feel like they need to at least be packed up and ready to go before the plot becomes available. But then again, 99% of the time I ask someone to move here, they just automatically say no thanks, so I didn’t even bother!

The following day, I stopped by Vesta’s house and said a final farewell. I wish there was a way to change their minds, because as I said, I did regret agreeing to let her go so quickly. If I’d taken a minute to think about it I would have asked her to stick around for a bit. See, Vesta moved to Xanadu from my nieces’ island, Ogunquitt, and I’m going to be visiting them again very soon, and it would have been nice if they could have flown over to my island and caught up with their old neighbor. Oh well… Hindsight is 20/20, as they say.
