Wootini’s Weekly Animal Crossing Diary 5/7/22

I was actually kind of grateful it was a nice, quiet week on Xanadu. No major drama, aside from stopping someone from moving out and learning a bunch of stuff. I could actually relax and have fun!

If it’s a new month, it’s time for a new gift from Mom! “My dear Chris,” she wrote. “The smell of trees and freshly cut grass brings out the adventurer in me. Wandering season is upon us! I’m not sure which I like better, wandering or meandering… I’m also fond of rambling. — Mom.” And enclosed for my own personal wandering, she sent another Mom’s knapsack. It’s cute, but the blue with the little cherry design isn’t my favorite. I liked the patchwork one she sent before just a little bit better. Can’t wait to see what she makes next year!

I know I usually leave Gullivarrr to his own devices these days, but this week I actually decided to help out Gulliver. And in return, he sent me another geisha wig. But at least it was a color scheme I didn’t already have! (That doesn’t seem to happen with Gullivarrr anymore, which is why I often leave him for someone else to deal with.)

I know I complain that jocks like Roald are one-note and boring, always talking about their muscles and working out, but I think there might actually be a little more to that little penguin. First, as you might recall from a previous diary entry, he’s been saying darling. I don’t know where he picked that up from, but it kind of softens his jock speak. And this week, I found him hanging out with Sasha, so I’m beginning to wonder if Roald has a crush on him! Time will tell…

This was a good week for learning new DIY recipes. I learned a few and weirdly, they were all from bottles that I found washed ashore on the beach. I learned how to make a green bamboo mat, a cool windflower crown, and coolest of all, a decayed tree!

At first, I wasn’t sure where to put it, but then I realized that right next to the gravestone would be just perfect! And I was inspired to take an arty black-and-white photo of the scene to see if I could make it look spooky. It’s okay, but it probably would’ve been better if I’d waited until nighttime!

Then, at the end of the week, I was surprised to hear Coco admit that she’d been daydreaming about starting life on another island. Honey, you won’t find a better island than Xanadu out there, so don’t even try! Plus, you haven’t given me your picture yet. And if you want to escape, that’s the price you’ll have to pay. So try again later! Sorry!
