Wootini’s Weekly Animal Crossing Diary 5/6/23

Dear Diary,

I didn’t learn anything new this week, but I still got some new stuff and one of those items is something I’ve been after for quite some time!

Being that May was kicking off, I got a call from Tom Nook because he’s doing the annual May Day maze on that island. It’s always the same reward at the end so I’ll only do it if I happen to have some extra time on my hands and feel like trying to solve the maze. Guess we’ll see!

As you might recall, I helped out Gulliver at the very end of last week, so I was rewarded with another sombrero. At least it was a different color than the ones I already have in my closet. And just in time for Cinco de Mayo! (Spoiler Alert: I did not remember to dress up for Cinco de Mayo on Friday.)

I found a notebook on the ground and went looking for its owner. And not only was it Sherb, who is already one of my best friends, but he was in the museum looking at fossils, so it took me forever to find him to give him back the diary he’d lost! Sigh…

Then on the first of the month, I got another letter from Mom. “My dear Chris, The smell of trees and freshly cut grass brings out the adventurer in me. Wandering season is upon us! I’m not sure which I like better, wandering or meandering… I’m also fond of rambling. — Mom.” Enclosed was another of Mom’s knapsacks, this time a blue one with a little pattern on it. (Which, no offense to Mom, but I honestly have no idea what it’s supposed to be…) Thanks, Mom!

I saw Ace looking deep in thought but thankfully, he wasn’t thinking about moving away. He just wanted to take a floating-biotope planter off my hands. I already have one so I was happy to trade him for a water bird. (Which I also already have, but anything to strengthen my friendship with Ace!)

Later in the week, I found a bag on the ground, and this time the lost item turned out to be Apollo’s, so I was glad I could do him a solid. It’s still early days, though, so all I got as a thank you was a layered polo shirt. Which I liked, but it was black and white and I’m in a colorful mood now that it’s properly spring.

I feel like I’ve got most of the furniture items but every so often, there’s something new on sale at Nook’s Cranny. This week it was a gaming desk, which I totally spent the 53,000 bells on because if I don’t already have it, I need to get it. That’s just how it works. I don’t make the rules!

So I was walking around at the end of the week and ran into Sasha, who basically invited himself over to my house. I didn’t really have a lot of free time right then, but I said yes because I’m still trying to cement our friendship. And then after he hung out a bit and we played some high card, low card, he didn’t seem in any hurry to leave. So I gave him a tour of the entire house and he followed me happily from room to room making weird comments on things as we went. We also enjoyed a bowl of ramen. Well, I did… he just read his magazine.

But it was all worth it because Sasha gave me his photo during his visit! Yay! Now, I hope he doesn’t think that means that I’m going to let him move away just because I have his picture. No, he’s gonna be sticking around for a good while yet. Sorry, Sasha!

Finally, we had another camper, and I have to say that Kidd seemed pretty cool. He’d fit right in around here on Xanadu. Shame there’s no empty space for anyone to move into. Oh well!
