Wootini’s Weekly Animal Crossing Diary 5/4/24

Dear Diary,

Well, this week I actually had quite a stroke of luck, and the photo above basically gives away the end result but let me tell you how it all shook out!

As you recall from last week, Sasha decided he wanted to move away and I wished him well (then created him a vacation house so I can visit him if the mood ever strikes). So this week naturally kicked off with him packing up and hitting the road. Or I guess the water, since this is an island and all. But on the very same day that he was moving out, we had a camper so I was excited to see who that might be in case it was someone I wanted to invite to move in!

Sure enough, it was Camofrog, who I’ve never met before but seems super awesome and cool. Unfortunately, although he pretty much talked about how he’d love to live on Xanadu right from the jump, when I suggested he move here, he did the whole, “Oh, I don’t know. Maybe we should play a card game to help me decide” thing. I freaking hate that! But luckily, I picked the right color card and he agreed to move in! Of course, he then reported back that he’d talked to Island services and there was no open space. Well, not technically…

Thankfully, he said that while there was no open space to build a house right now, Sasha was on his way out, so I told him to go talk to Sasha and sure enough, that did the trick. Camofrog will move into Sasha’s plot tomorrow just as soon as it’s free. Phew!

Kitt invited me to hang out at her house and I agreed, even though as you can see, she’s not exactly the most exciting hostess. But I’m still trying to get her picture, so I have to keep her sweet. She also offered to sell me any of her stuff I might have my eye on, but obviously, there’s nothing I need at this point so I had to turn her down. On the way out the door, she gave me a school uniform with necktie. Which is no picture…

The new month kicked off this week, and since it’s May, that means the special May Day tour is available. I haven’t done it in a couple of years because while it’s a fun little puzzle, it’s always the same reward so I never really feel like taking the time out of my busy day to do it. And if I’m being completely honest, I’m probably not going to get around to it this year, either.

Camofrog didn’t move in the very next day after Sasha left. There was one day in between where the plot was under construction. Which makes sense, I guess. It takes time to throw up an entire new building. Why they don’t just leave the existing house up so the next person can just move in I’ll never know. And judging from Camofrog’s wallpaper and flooring, I’m intrigued to see what his furniture is like. Unfortunately, for the rest of the week, he was always out and about. Haven’t caught him at home yet.

When May 1 rolled around, Mom sent me her wandering, meandering, and rambling letter with another Mom’s knapsack, and I kind of like this one. It’s a pretty tree print in subtle colors. Thanks, Mom!

Towards the end of the week, we had another camper. And Grizzly looks like he’s totally the outdoorsy type who really enjoys camping. I’m sure he’s super nice, but I found him kind of intimidating upon first meeting him. Although honestly, I probably would have invited Grizzly to move in if Camofrog hadn’t already timed his camping trip better. When you leave it to random chance you never know who might move in!
