Dear Diary,

This week I was stunned to learn there are still things to learn, I kept things together, did some favors, and got frustrated. Let’s go!

There are far too many DIY recipes to check and see which ones I have and which ones I’m missing, but I’m pretty sure I’ve got all the cooking ones at this point. But every so often I will come across a new crafting recipe that I don’t already have. This week kicked off with me finding the DIY recipe for a gear apparatus in a bottle on the beach. I’ve known how to make gears for ages, but now I can make some and combine them into a gear apparatus. I mean, if that’s something I ever feel compelled to do…

Early in the week, Ace asked if he could come over to my place and hang out, and since I don’t understand why he hasn’t given me his picture yet after all this time, I agreed. Unfortunately, the gift he gave me was a baby romper. And then the next day, with this thank you note, there was still no picture. Just a mixer. What am I doing wrong? Is it my breath? Do I need new deodorant? What is going on?!

Next, Apple told me she was thinking of leaving and I asked her very nicely to reconsider and stick around. As one of my oldest friends on this island, I just can’t say goodbye. I just can’t. Sorry, Apple!

Well, Sherb’s “tater tot” nickname for me does seem to be spreading around Xanadu. After Genji asked if he could use it last week, this week, Ace wanted to start calling me “tater tot” as well. Like I said before, I don’t hate it, so I gave Ace the go ahead. Also, I appreciate them asking in the first place!

I found a very stylish bag on the ground and immediately suspected it belonged to the very stylish Lopez. (I love when he wears that bowling shirt I gave him years ago — it looks perfect on him!) I was right, and he thanked me with a… caterpillar costume? Um, okay… whatever!

Then, at the end of the week, I found a book on the ground that was kind of tattered and falling apart, but it was the food stuck between the pages that made me immediately think of Sherb. As a way of repaying me for returning his picture book, he gifted me a parka dress. Which I promptly sold. I mean, they can’t expect me to keep all of these ridiculous gifts, right?

Finally, I happened to pop my head into The Roost and saw Celeste enjoying a cup of coffee, so I knew she was caffeinating herself so she could stay up all night long looking at the stars. So I went back out once it was getting dark and found her on the beach to see if I could get another celestial DIY recipe out of her. But once again, I just got five star fragments. Sigh. I know there are celestial DIY recipes I don’t have, but I’m not sure how to get them out of her. I suspect it needs to be the right time of year, but I guess this isn’t one of them. I’ll just have to keep trying!
