Dear Diary,

This week I attempted to avoid another annoying time of year only to find out that I had forgotten that you can’t actually avoid it. You just have to push through. Sigh…

The week kicked off with a camper, a cute koala named Faith. I feel like her cheerfulness might be just a bit much to take after a time, but it doesn’t really matter because there’s no room on the island anymore anyway. Sorry, Faith! Hope you enjoyed your visit!

Remember last week when Sherb decided he wanted to start calling me “tater tot” and I wondered if this nickname would catch on at all? Well, it did! Just days later, Genji caught wind of it and wanted to start calling me “tater tot” as well. As I said last week, I don’t hate it, so I told him to go ahead.

I found a very fashionable bag on the ground that turned out to belong to Lopez (my second guess). Since we’re already as close as close can be, he rewarded me with an elegant hat. Even though I don’t need a reward from him. The good deed is reward enough.

As you know, every day I go on my rounds across the island to pick up any weeds, fallen branches, and dig up cracks in the ground. So every day I have fossils to be appraised at the museum so I can sell them off. And unfortunately, for two weeks, I have to deal with Blathers blathering on about the Stamp Rally and how I should be collecting stamps from the stamp stations in each section of the museum. No thank you, I already have the plaques from the very first time I did this five years ago.

However, since the first time you talk to Blathers every day he rattles on about the Stamp Rally again and how there are still stamps you haven’t collected, I thought it couldn’t hurt to go and get those stamps just to shut him up. It’s not exactly time consuming. Unfortunately, after I finished the last stamp card, the next day, he reminded me that I still haven’t collected all the stamps because the stations move around each day. Sigh. So I literally just wasted my time getting the stamps because Blathers will still talk your ear off about the Stamp Rally anyway. Oh well. It was worth a try.

Camofrog seemed deep in thought so I chatted with him and he invited himself over to my place. I had some free time so I said fine, and we had a little visit where I showed him around my place. And for my troubles I got a pair of drinking-straw glasses, a lunch-service apron, and in the mail the following day, a kettle. Sigh. Still no picture, though…

To wrap things up, Vesta told me she was thinking about moving away. Now, I’m honestly not super attached to her or anything, but she kind of only just got here so I asked her to stick around a bit longer. But the next time she wants to go, I’ll let her. Promise! I swear! I’ve vowed not to be a jailer just to get people’s pictures because they aren’t giving them up anymore, so I need to let them go. Well, aside from my BFFs and OGs, of course! But Vesta? I promise next time she wants to move, I’ll wish her well.
