Wootini’s Weekly Animal Crossing Diary 5/14/22
Dear Diary,
This was a super quiet week on the island. It’s almost enough to make me reconsider looking into that job with that nearby island’s design firm. Almost. I think I’d like to enjoy the peace and quiet for a little while longer. Not that nothing happened this week, though… In fact, there was a momentous occasion I’ve been waiting for ages to happen!
Well, I appreciate Roald sharing his recipe for fruit pizza, but if I’m perfectly honest about it, there is literally no way in hell that I’m ever going to make fruit pizza, let alone eat it. Yuck! Fruit does not belong on pizza! That was the only new recipe I got all week, too, so that’s extra disappointing.
This week was the Eurovision Song Contest, so I went into my design app to tweak my 2021 design to remove the year and leave it as just the Eurovision logo. Naturally, I also went in and adjusted the flag colors in the center heart to be Italy, this year’s host country. The problem is that when I created this design, it was just a regular design so the only clothing I can put it on is a sleeveless T-shirt. And because the design takes up the entire space, it wraps around my sides and does not look great as a shirt. As a sign, it’s fantastic. Shirt? Not so much. Unfortunately, there’s no way to transfer a regular design to the Pro Design app, so I would have to make a Pro design from scratch to put on other clothing. I admit I started, but the Eurovision logo is so complicated I couldn’t get it to squish into the center any more and still look like what it’s supposed to be. Sigh. Design is not my bag, baby.
This week I ended up doing my rounds a bit later in the evening so I was keeping an eye out for scorpions and was excited to finally see one and try out the technique I heard was foolproof. But they didn’t count on this fool! I accidentally distracted myself and suddenly the scorpion wasn’t where it was before! I panicked and when I thought I saw movement, I instinctively lashed out and swung my net. And much to my surprise, I actually caught it! Wow! So I finally had a scorpion to donate to the museum. Now I just have to wait until the fall and try to catch a tarantula. Actually, I think I’m missing a couple other bugs, too. I really should sit down and make a list so I can see if I can catch any of those bugs and fish to complete my collection. I’ve never been able to do it in the other towns where I’ve lived, but there’s a first time for everything, right?
At the end of the week, we had a camper. Goose was a little intimidating, but when I spoke to him, he sounded like just another jock. No thank you, Goose. We’ve already got two of them on Xanadu, and that’s one too many if you ask me! Better luck next island!
