Dear Diary,

Whoo! It was a big week on Xanadu! I learned a whole bunch of new things, couldn’t avoid getting involved in a repetitive project, and invited a new neighbor to replace the one I’m sad to see go. So let’s get started!

Things kicked off with me finding a recipe for savory bread in a bottle on the beach. That sounds good. Then, at the end of the week, Sasha taught me how to make peach jam. Which I honestly thought I already knew how to make, but apparently not!

This week, there was a Titan Arum on sale and while it was 19,000 bells, I couldn’t resist! It’s so hideous! Thankfully, this particular corpse flower doesn’t smell!

Genji showed me how to make a gold-nugget mining car, then I found a DIY recipe for stacked fish containers on the beach as well as one for a pile of cash. That sounds like fun until you realize that to craft the stack of cash you need about 300,000 bells! Then, at the end of the week, I found a bottle on the beach and a recipe for a golden garden bunny inside. At some point I’d like to craft some of this golden stuff, but I still think there are quite a few that I can’t make because you need the original item to turn it gold and I don’t actually have them.

So when I went to Harv’s Island to check out the shops, I was immediately waylaid into helping shoot Reese and Cyrus’ anniversary photos again. Sigh. It’s such a pain. I just threw this photo together for them so I could get out of there and get back to business. I don’t need any more benches, thanks!

So Harry told me he was thinking about moving away and I actually thought about asking him to stick around because I do genuinely adore his crankiness, but I know I really need to stop holding my friends prisoner. So I wished him well… and then immediately regretted it! But there’s no turning back once the decision is made…

Like last time, I had someone in mind to invite to the island so I asked Ace to come camp and made him a couple of things to influence him to move here. First was a plain wooden shop sign, and I tried to give him one I’d already crafted but I think because I had customized the design on it, he wouldn’t take it. So I had to craft another one from scratch. Then he wanted a kettlebell, which makes sense, with him being a jock. But when I invited him to move to Xanadu, he checked with Resident Services and said there was no room for him to move in. He asked if he could talk to someone about leaving so he could move to Xanadu, but I said no because I didn’t know who he would pick. I guess just because Harry was all packed and ready to go, it doesn’t count as a vacancy? I’ll have to talk to Tom Nook about that because it doesn’t really make sense.

I paid Roald a visit towards the end of the week and found him looking pretty miserable. Luckily, I had a couple bags of medicine still on me so I could help him get better. I just had to remember to restock at Nook’s Cranny after because I don’t want to be caught without any medicine at all in my pockets. That would be terribly inconvenient!

By Friday, Harry was gone and his spot was empty so I invited Ace to come camp again so I could ask him to move here again. This time it was easy peasy and after a quick chat with Resident Services, Ace is on his way! I’m very excited about this because Ace is one of my original BFF’s from way back in the very first town I ever lived in. He doesn’t seem to remember me, but that’s okay — it was many, many, many years ago. I remember him! Although I didn’t remember him being quite so much of a jock… I hope I don’t regret having three of them on the island at the same time!
