Dear Diary,

This week was kind of hit or miss. I learned some new things but also got a lot of repeats. However, I learned a DIY recipe that was absolutely the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen!

So remember last week when I decided to do the right thing and help Gullivarrr? Well, I just got another pirate outfit, same color as I’ve already got in my closet. Oh well. Also, don’t mind Harry, who decided to just plop himself down in my yard and hang out to photo bomb.

The only new food recipe I learned this week was from Francine, who showed me how to make a delicious-looking mixed-fruits crepe. Everything else I already knew. And I don’t even cook that often so it’s kind of wasted on me!

I was super excited when I shot down a balloon and found a DIY recipe inside. That hardly ever happens! And better yet, it was a recipe I didn’t already know! Of course, now that I’ve learned how to make a yellow bamboo mat, that will be it for the bamboo DIY recipes for this year. Maybe by 2029 I’ll have collected them all. Oh, also, towards the end of the week, Roald showed me how to make a golden samurai suit, which is pretty cool too!

I didn’t really find much interesting this week at the plaza on Harv’s island, although Kicks was selling this really nifty sword in scabbard that I bought to wear around and look tough. You can’t take the sword out to actually use it, but it’s all about making an impression!

Francine admitted she was considering moving away so I shut that down on the quickfast! I still don’t understand how I shower Francine with gifts all the time and it was Cherry who gave me her picture first. Sorry, Francine. If you really want to leave my island, all you have to do is give me your picture. That’s not too much to ask, is it?

At the end of the week, I also found Gulliver washed ashore and I had some time so I gave him some help. And in return I got another Tam-o’-shanter hat. But at least this was a new color! See, Gullivarrr, this is how you keep me sweet so I keep helping you out!

I also learned the most ridiculous DIY recipe this week. Coco was crafting a nice branch and shared the recipe with me so I could make my own. Basically, it means taking three of the fallen branches I pick up every day to keep my island clean and using them to craft a “nice” branch that you can hold. For what possible purpose? Walk softly and carry a big stick? It’s not even that big! And it only sells for 30 bells at Nook’s Cranny. Sure, it’s twice what you’d get for selling three regular branches, but it’s hardly worth the effort. Worst. DIY. Recipe. Ever.
