Dear Diary,

Last week was the quiet before the storm it seems because this week was a lot! And I’m not talking about just the chaos you get when you put Apple and Patty together! Let’s get going!

It was the start of a new month which meant a letter from Mom, this time about wishing on shooting stars. And a new gift, which was another Mom’s pen stand. I rather like this one the best. It looks more like a proper house I’d live in.

We also kicked off the week with a camper, and as much as I adore Puck, there’s no room for him on the island right now. Shame. Although if I really, really wanted him to move in, I have his card somewhere so I could call and invite him.

On Sunday I made a point of going out in the evening because it’s time for the Summertime Sunday Night Fireworks display! I didn’t submit any new designs, and I only tried a few of Redd’s prize draws. But it’s fun to hang out with everyone and watch the fireworks. Sherb even gave me a sparkler!

A friend of mine had said you can also enjoy the fireworks from Kapp’n’s boat, so I gave that a shot. And you can! But because you’re on a boat, you can’t really look up to take them all in. Still, it’s nice to have a song as part of the show!

Kapp’n took me to a glowing moss island so I collected a bunch and found a bottle washed ashore on the beach for a glowing moss wreath, which I naturally put together and stuck up on my front door. It just sort of looks like a ring of limes to me, though…

Kitt told me she was thinking of moving away so I had to shut that down again. I still don’t have her picture. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. She’s been here ages, but then Ace has been here even longer and I still don’t have his picture, either. Am I not that likeable anymore?

Robin asked me to do her a favor and deliver a present to Lopez to apologize for something she’d done during a prank war. When Lopez unwrapped it, it was a purple sleeveless parka which wasn’t as cute as the bowling shirt he’d been wearing, but I still complimented it. In return, he thanked me with a delivery jacket. But I didn’t care about the reward because the real reward was doing a favor for Robin, and hopefully inching my way towards becoming BFFs.

I thought Genji was thinking about moving away himself but when I interrupted him, he admitted he’d just been thinking up a new nickname for me. Now, while I’m partial to Lopez’s “maestro” and wish that had spread around the island more, “champ” isn’t bad. And it’s more appropriate for Genji anyway. I expect Ace to start calling me that any day now.

I got all excited when Ace caught sight of me and came running over to give me a gift. I honestly thought this was the moment that he was finally going to give me his picture and we would officially be BFFs. But no, as soon as he pulled an outfit out to hand to me, my heart sank. I honestly don’t know what’s wrong with me these days…

Then, to close out the week, we had another camper. I’m pretty sure Eloise was a neighbor of mine at some point in the past. She’s very sweet and looks very familiar. Obviously she didn’t recognize me, but I think I recognized her. Unfortunately, as with Puck, I could only say hello and hope they enjoyed their brief visit to Xanadu.
