Wootini’s Weekly Animal Crossing Diary 2/19/22
Lots of activity on the island this week because not only was it my birthday but it was also Valentine’s Day! Plus, I said goodbye to someone I never really clicked with, and learned some new stuff on top of all that! Phew!
I have to admit I was a little disappointed that it was Genji instead of Lopez, who was waiting outside my house to bring me over to his for my “surprise” birthday party. And then he wasn’t even at the party! Although Apple and Harry are two of my dearest friends, so I guess I can’t complain. Too much.
Mom also sent me another homemade cake on my birthday and this year it was a carrot cake. Which is lovely, but I’m not the biggest fan of carrot cake. It’s sweet, but it still feels mildly healthy, which I don’t think cake should be.
I took all the birthday cupcakes I got out of my piñata and gave them away to as many people as I could. (There aren’t enough cupcakes for everyone on the island, sadly…) Naturally, the first one was Lopez, who I found hanging out at Harry’s house. I got all the party stuff again, like walls, floor, the cake, the sign, and whatnot. Although when Harry gave me the birthday shades, I couldn’t resist putting them on. And the hat, when I got that later!
I also popped into The Roost and had a birthday cup of coffee… though Brewster still charged me for it. You’d think you’d get a free cup on your birthday at least! Oh, and Because my birthday fell on Saturday, I couldn’t get a request out of K.K. Slider. All he would play was “K.K. Birthday.” Oh well!
Oh, I also put out the model of the paper kite butterfly that Flick sent me. I hope Coco doesn’t mind that I put it right next to her house!
I learned some new cooking recipes this week. First Genji taught me how to make seafood pizza, which actually sounds like it could be kind of yummy. Then, I found a bottle on the beach that had a recipe for coconut milk in it, and I would have sworn I already had that one, but apparently not! And finally, at the end of the week, Zucker taught me how to make mushroom salad. Which also sounds pretty tasty!
I got a ton of valentines in the mail on Valentine’s Day, but the only one I really cared about was the one I got from Lopez. It read: “To my Valentine’s VIP guru, I know, I know… Giving someone a bunch of red roses feels serious, but that’s because it is! I take our friendship as seriously as an audition, so you know you can count on me to overdo it. Ha ha! Florally yours, Lopez.” I had already bought a chocolate heart to give to him, but that was the only Valentine’s Day gift I gave to anyone. I wanted Lopez to feel special.
I have basically ignored Tank since he showed up on the island, so I guess it shouldn’t have come as a surprise when he told me he was thinking about leaving. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, bud! Sorry, that’s a bit rude. But honestly, he never fit in. All he ever did was talk about sports and muscles and working out. Genji is sporty, but at least he can talk about other things occasionally! Sorry, but I won’t miss Tank.
I think Genji might have a little bit of a crush on one of our newer residents because he asked me to give Coco a present from him. When I delivered it, though, it turned out to be a concierge uniform, which I think is a little weird. But Coco loved it and started wearing it immediately, so… yay? Love connection between the bunnies?
Oh, I also got a new DIY recipe in a bottle I found on the beach that taught me how to make some open wooden shelves. I’ve been enjoying the new furniture that’s been popping up in the store. I’ve even started redecorating my main room with furniture I like better instead of all being from one set. The HRA may not like my mish-mosh, but I do! And in the end, that’s all that matters!
