Wootini’s Weekly Animal Crossing Diary 2/12/22

Dear Diary,
Even the relatively quiet weeks on Xanadu are full of fun! But this week was actually pretty momentous because I saw someone I haven’t seen in forever! Let’s get right to it!

So I made it to another of K.K. Slider’s gigs, and left the song choice up to him. He again picked a brand new tune I hadn’t heard, which this time around was “K.K. Robot Synth.” I kind of liked it live, but I gotta say, the album version is a little processed and weird so I don’t quite like it as much. It’s still pretty good, though!

I popped into The Roost for a cup of joe and was stunned to see Celeste hanging out! I haven’t seen her in a dog’s age! I was super annoyed that she was having coffee in The Roost instead of out giving away special DIY recipes, though. After all this time not seeing Celeste, this is where I finally run into her?

I did notice, however, that the sky looked relatively clear, and while Isabelle didn’t mention any meteor showers in her announcements, I started to see some shooting stars once the sun went down. So I went on the hunt and eventually found Celeste wandering around near Genji’s house by the beach! She gave me a DIY recipe for an astronaut suit, which was awesome. Unfortunately, since it wasn’t an official meteor shower, the shooting stars weren’t very frequent and after I spoke with Celeste, I didn’t see any more at all! So I eventually gave up. I had enough star fragments in storage to make up the difference to craft the astronaut suit anyway!

After my most recent flight to Harv’s island I got a letter in the mail from Dodo Airlines thanking me for using their service (like I have a choice?) and these fun DAL sunglasses as a frequent flier reward!

I saw that in the Nook Shopping app you could buy a Venetian Carnival Mask during Carnival, so I snatched one up. The black and white one was a little creepy looking, but later in the week I saw a more colorful one that looked cooler. I want to get a bunch of variations because it’s such a cool mask. Not sure when I’ll really wear any of them, but I still want them!

This was a light week for new DIY recipes. I only got two new food recipes. First, Sherb taught me how to make french fries (yum!) and then at the end of the week, I found a bottle washed up on the beach with a recipe for pumpkin cupcakes.

When I saw Genji clearly had something on his mind I was a little concerned. And sure enough, he was contemplating moving away. Unfortunately, he and Lopez are basically stuck here for the duration so I can’t let him go. I feel kind of bad, but I don’t want to have to redesign that entire corner of the island. Sorry, Genji!

We had a camper this week, and I have to say that Spike was really off-putting! He kept calling me a punk and I worry about where he got that scar on his face. This was one time I was glad we didn’t have any empty space on the island for a camper to move into!

I popped into The Roost again later in the week and chatted with Resetti, but didn’t actually get any coffee that day. But on the way out, Brewster stopped me and gave me a brewstoid as a present for stopping by so much. And it’s exactly what it sounds like — a gyroid that looks like Brewster himself! It’s adorable!

I very nearly left Gullivarrr for someone else to deal with, but changed my mind and woke him up to help find his phone and send him on his way. At least this time around I got a pirate outfit color I didn’t already have, so that’s something, I guess…

Flick was hanging out on the island at the end of the week so I caught three paper kite butterflies and decided to ask for another commission from him. He always seems so happy and excited when you show even the slightest interest in his art — it’s adorable!
