Dear Diary,

Even though Toy Day is just around the corner, things slowed down a little bit compared to last week. And even after all this time on the island, it’s fun to discover new things!

So I found Renée crafting in her home and when she said she was making a wooden table, I was like, oh, I’ve already got that one. But I didn’t! I was very surprised to discover I had never received this extremely basic DIY recipe. Go figure! Well, I’ve got it now!

I was doing my daily rounds in the evening and when I popped into the museum to have Blathers assess my fossils, I went upstairs to poke my head into The Roost and saw Celeste sitting there enjoying a cup of coffee. Since it was nearly seven, I decided to wander around until I could go find Celeste wandering around herself. She excitedly gave me a DIY recipe for a star pochette (which is super fabulous, BTW) but after waiting a while I never saw a single shooting star. Oh well!

Redd parked his boat behind the island this week and while I’ve already got all the artwork, he often has regular furniture items for sale that I don’t have yet. Or else they’re different styles of an item that I’d like to add to my inventory. This time, it was this ridiculously creepy small mannequin that I simply had to have. Of course, it was more than the 4,000 bells I had on me so I had to go back after doing my rounds and earning some more bells so I could afford it. I wasn’t going to let it get away!

I guess I haven’t been friendly enough with Renée because this week she told me she was thinking about moving away. I mean, she only just got here! I mean, sure, Robin is super fabulous and kind of left Renée in the dust, but Renée is still pretty cool. I’d like her to stick around a bit longer. And I told her as much!

I found this stage flame machine for sale in Nook’s Cranny so I quickly snatched it up and set it out in my outdoor disco. The flame is a bit much (especially for anyone who is sitting on the booth next to it!) but it should keep any patrons toasty warm all winter long!

I was doing a little redecorating in my house and of course any time I’m in my house for more than a couple of minutes, someone comes knocking on the door. But this time it was Coco, who I haven’t gotten a picture from yet, so I came out of the back room and let her in. (Well, she let herself in after I entered the main room.) Still no picture, but letting her hang out at my place and read a book (!) had to help cement our friendship, right?
