Dear Diary,

This week I have been trying to do my best and help out and get in the spirit of the holiday but I ended up doing something I never thought I would — I completely let down my oldest friend! Thankfully, I think I salvaged my reputation… Phew!

This week I noticed that some of the trees had been decorated with festive holiday lights. You know, I really hope Isabelle isn’t out here hanging those herself. She really should hire some workmen to do it for us. I hate to think of her out here in the cold stringing lights on her own. I’d be happy to help!

I was shocked when Gabi told me some gossip that she heard Deli was thinking about moving away. Naturally, that can’t happen, because getting someone new to move into town has become such a hassle that I don’t want to do it again. So I set off in search of Deli to see if this rumor was true.

Unfortunately, when I found Deli, he said nothing about moving. Just the usual nonsense. And for the entire rest of the week, every time I saw him, I would chat him up in the hopes of getting him to admit his plan but he never said anything about leaving town. Weird. I mean, I’m a little worried that he never confirmed Gabi’s gossip, but at the same time, days and days passed without him actually moving away, so maybe Gabi misheard? Here’s hoping!

I saw a couple of snowballs near each other so I decided to go ahead and try building a snowman. And much to my surprise, it was perfect! (Usually, I suck at building snowpeople…) I like the Snowman the best of the Snowfamily because the bingo game is a fun diversion. I even built another one right next to this one a couple days later just so I could get more numbers. You kind of have to because they don’t last long. Just a few days and then they melt away to nothing. The trick is finding that second snowball, usually. You can find one and build it up but without the head, you’ve just got a giant snowball. And that isn’t a whole lot of fun.

I was horrified to see this message on the town bulletin board celebrating Gabi’s birthday. Because I didn’t see it until the 17th, a day after Gabi’s birthday. Sigh. I knew there wasn’t anything I could do about it the next day, so I resigned myself to mailing her a letter with a robo stereo enclosed as a belated birthday present. And much to my surprise, the next day, I got a reply from Gabi that read: “Hiya, Chris! What a totally trendy, idol-perfect birthday present! But it’s no fun if I’m the only one getting presents, so take this little something from me in return! Thanks so much! From your pal, Gabi” I was overjoyed to get her reply because it meant that even though I was a day late, mailing her a birthday present still counted. Phew!

For some weird reason, Quillson decided he wanted to nickname me “cowboy.” I mean, sure, why not? I don’t hate it, but it’s a little weird. Especially since I hate westerns. But sure, go for it.

I had another near-disaster this week when I accidentally spoke too fast and somehow agreed to help Quillson find signatures for his “Love-Thy-Hairstyle Day” petition without even realizing it. I need to slow down and be more careful in future. Because I don’t travel to other towns anymore (not even sure if there are any out there to travel to these days) so I can’t get him what he needs. So the following day, I went to his place to apologize and thankfully, he wasn’t bothered at all. Heck, he even apologized to me! Phew. Bullet dodged!

I’ve been trying to talk to everyone to find out what they want for Toy Day but sometimes they just talk about it in general terms without actually admitting what they want from Jingle. Sigh. So at this point, there are a few people I know exactly what they’re looking for, a few I have a good idea, and a couple that still haven’t given me a single clue! I’ve got a little bit more work to do before Toy Day and that’s just a few days away at this point!
