Wootini’s Weekly Animal Crossing Diary 11/9/24
Dear Diary,
I had a little extra time at the beginning of the week, but as it went on, not so much… though people kept trying to take advantage! But I also got really lucky finally… although — spoiler alert! — not with a picture.
I kicked things off by doing a little work for Happy Home Paradise. I popped into the cafe and saw Rosie sitting there and said hello. Turns out she was a customer just like the people hanging out on the beach. She wanted her very own talent agency, so that’s what I gave her. Not exactly the most relaxing vacation home, but I guess you can sleep on the couch? I also found a bottle on the beach that contained a DIY recipe for glow-in-the-dark stickers!
This week, it was Apple who I found sick at home. As one of my oldest friends on the island I was more than happy to share some of the medicine I carry on me for just such an occasion. And since I already got her picture yonks ago, I got a fast-food uniform as thanks. But really, it’s the thought that counts here!
Mid-week, Kitt basically just invited herself over to my house and since I still don’t have her picture, I agreed. We hung out in the main room for a bit but when it became clear she wasn’t going home anytime soon, I gave her a room-to-room tour of my home. She gave me a pair of flower sunglasses during her visit, and the next day sent me a thank you gift in the mail. I held my breath and hoped for the best, but sadly it was just a stand mixer. I seriously don’t know why this batch of neighbors is holding on to their pictures so desperately!
I found another cutesy notebook on the ground and made a beeline for Patty’s hoping it was hers again but nope. She once again got annoyed I thought this was her style — it totally is! — and suggested it belonged to Apple. Which obviously it did, if it wasn’t Patty’s. No one else on the island would own something like this. So instead of cementing my friendship with Patty I instead just got a conductor’s jacket from Apple for returning her autograph book. Sigh.
Later in the week I found Celeste hanging out in The Roost in the afternoon, and made a mental note to go out later that night to find her. And once again, I found her in the same place I usually do. Nine times out of 10, she’s up by the pond at the very highest elevation on Xanadu. Probably because it’s got the best view of the stars.
I did see one shooting star while I was chatting with Celeste but after waiting a while longer I didn’t see any more so I just gave up and went home. It was okay, because the DIY recipe I got off her was for a starry-skies rug which only takes one small and one large star fragment and I have plenty of those in storage. I quickly crafted it because I was thrilled to finally get another celestial DIY I could craft for my back room!
Of course, being in my back room setting down the rug and positioning it just so and taking the picture meant I was home long enough for someone to come knocking. Normally, I would ignore them if it was someone whose picture I already have, but it was Lopez and he’s my bestest boyfriend on the island so I had to go let him in and hang for a bit. On the plus side, he didn’t stay too long and I could get back to business!
