Dear Diary,

This week I was a total sweetheart doing favors and good deeds all over the island. And I know that it’s supposed to be the thought that counts, but I would also like some pictures… is that too much to ask?

I found a notebook on the ground and it turned out to be Robin’s lost planner. I wasn’t sure who it might belong to so I had to ask around, and I was delighted to do another favor for Robin. Unfortunately, my reward was a wasp-head model. Sigh.

Then I popped in on Kitt to see how she was doing and found her seriously under the weather. So as always, I happily gave her some of the medicine that I carry around with my for just such an occasion. And all I got was a cypress plant…

That same day, Camofrog invited himself over to my place to check it out. I had some free time so I agreed, given that I’m still working on our friendship. So with him, I wasn’t expecting a picture yet, so I wasn’t disappointed when I got a pilot’s hat.

Annoyingly, just a couple days after he invited himself over to my house and I thought we had a great time, Camofrog told me he wanted to move away. Are you even serious right now? Come on! First of all, you practically just got here. And secondly, you’re grumpy, which is my favorite kind of neighbor to have. You’re not going anywhere for a while, yet.

This week we also had a camper, and I have to say, Dom was kind of cool. Sadly there’s no room on the island right now. And after meeting Eugene a couple of weeks ago, I think the next open space on Xanadu is reserved for him. Sorry, Dom!

At the end of the week, it was Kitt’s birthday. And I was very proud of myself that I totally remembered to look for a gift at Nook’s Cranny in the days leading up to it so I wouldn’t have to scramble on the day. I had also read somewhere that giving expensive gifts makes it more likely you’ll get a picture in return so I went ahead and dropped something like $50,000 bells on a karaoke machine for her. She was literally at a loss for words when she opened it, which I hope is a good sign. Now the only question is… will next week’s diary entry kick off with Kitt sending me her picture as a thank you? Fingers crossed!
