Wootini’s Weekly Animal Crossing Diary 1/30/21
Dear Diary,
Well, this was quite the eventful week on Xanadu! I lost a friend, but made a new one pretty much immediately, then I went on a shopping spree to buy all kinds of seasonal items that I don’t really want or need! (Well, one of them I definitely wanted and needed!)
Well, my music library is pretty full at this point so I have to make requests or else risk getting a song I already have. Which meant requesting something I don’t have, like “K.K. Casbah.” It’s okay, but it’s no “K.K. Groove!”
I checked in on Clay and found him under the weather. Luckily, I had medicine on me. I always make sure to have medicine in my pockets both in case I get stung by a rogue bee or if one of my buddies is sick. Don’t want anything spreading around the island!
Kitty surprised me by admitting she was thinking about moving. My first instinct is always to tell them to stay, but even though I enjoyed nicknaming this bit of the island “Kitty Corner” because both Kitty and Kiki live next door to each other, Kitty never made the impression Kiki did. So if she wants to spread her wings and fly, more power to her.
Redd swung by with yet another fake Mona Lisa, but the Tremendous Statue seemed genuine so I threw down some bells and gave it a shot. And lo and behold, Blathers was thrilled to add the Houmuwu Ding to the museum! Later in the week, I also got an Ancient Statue in the mail from Harry, but I’ve already got one of those so even though it looks like the real thing, how can it be? I should check and see if any of my friends need an Ancient Statue for their own museums…
The next day, I made sure to stop by Kitty’s house where she had everything all packed up and was giving the floor a good sweep before the movers came. She was a little sad to be saying goodbye to everyone but promised to be strong. I wish her well.
That very same day, we had a camper, and for some reason, I just thought Bea seemed super cute and I fell in love with her immediately. While chatting with her she expressed a desire to live here, so I suggested she join us. After checking with Resident Services, she reported back that there were no available homes to move into and no place to build any new homes.
But then she suggested she could ask around and see if anyone on the island was thinking about moving. Normally, I would be afraid of doing that for fear that she might tell me Lopez or Apple wanted to move. But I knew Kitty was already packed and ready to go so it was completely safe! And sure enough, Bea talked to Kitty and they made arrangements for her to move right in as soon as Kitty’s house was empty!
It’s not quite February yet, but there was a bunch of new seasonal items to buy from the Nook shopping app and Nintendo sent over these awesome maracas! They’ll be perfect for celebrating Festivale next month!
Oh, Gullivarrr washed ashore this week, and after diving for his phone (that water is frigid right now!) he mailed me these pirate pants the next day. It’s hard to see with my long coat, but there’s gold stripes and buttons on them. Some day I’ll get into a pirate mood and dress up in all the various pieces to raid and pillage the island!
I do miss Resetti in a very weird way. So when the Resetti statue was available for purchase I immediately bought it. In my last town, I earned it, but here Resetti isn’t even around so buying it from the shop is the only way to enjoy him. If only it had a voice chip in it so you could push a button and he could yell at you!
There was also this football rug and cheering megaphone that I bought to celebrate “Big Game Day” in America. Not that I celebrate that particular occasion myself, but I’m not going to miss out on unique items like this. Besides, the rug kind of goes nicely in my basement game room.
To celebrate the Japanese holiday of Stsubun, there was also this Bean-tossing kit to buy. You can throw roasted soy beans at people to bring good luck, apparently. But bad luck on whoever has to clean them up afterwards!
By the end of the week, Kiki was gone and Bea moved in the following day. I went by to say hello and she said she was so happy I’d asked her to move in while she was camping here. From her foody wallpaper I can’t wait to see what her furniture looks like! I’m hoping Bea is a very good cook! Yummers!
