Wootini’s Weekly Animal Crossing Diary 1/22/22

Dear Diary,

This was kind of a busy week. I said farewell to a friend, celebrated a couple of birthdays, learned some new things, and helped a bit. So let’s get right to it!

Unfortunately, I only learned one new recipe this week. I kept getting duplicates, which I would share with my friend Rob, but they weren’t all new to him, either. He sent me a couple I already had, but pickled veggies was new! (Not that I actually want to make pickled veggies, but the collection wouldn’t be complete without it…)

The past couple of weeks, I kept forgetting to come back in the evening when K.K. Slider would actually take requests, but this time I was determined to make it happen. I left the choice of tune up to him, and he again picked something brand new, but unfortunately it was “K.K. Fugue,” which I have to admit isn’t one of my faves. But like the recipes, it fills in the collection! Gotta catch ’em all!

I was a little surprised when Flurry admitted she was thinking about moving. I almost asked her to stick around but then decided I had to stop doing that and wished her well. She’s cute and nice, but I can’t just keep everyone prisoner on my island forever. (Or can I?)

I have to admit I kind of liked Lopez calling me “burrito,” but I was also super curious about what new nickname he might have come up with. Sadly, he went with “guru,” which I only accepted because Lopez is my ride or die and he can do no wrong. (Except the occasional swing and a miss nickname, but whatever…)

Sherb asked me if I wanted to play the treasure hunting game, and since I’d already done my rounds, I knew it would be much easier to spot the burial site. No more fossils or gyroids to cause confusion! I found it pretty quickly and it turns out that it was Sherb’s photo… which is a great prize, but I’ve already got that. I need someone new to play this game since very often the treasure is their photo. Francine, where are you?

I realized I hadn’t seen Cherry in a few days and when I checked on her at home I found out she was really sick. I felt terrible for not checking up on her sooner, but at least I had some medicine to offer her so she can get better!

One of the days I popped into The Roost for a cup of coffee, I was very surprised to see Blathers wander in for a drink to go! I’m going to assume that he sticks to decaf, because by the time I finished my cup and left the museum, he was once again out cold and snoring by the entrance.

January is a big month for birthdays on Xanadu right now, with Sherb being first up. I wrapped up a board game for him that he really seemed to like. Maybe I’m getting better at picking presents for my friends? (Or maybe they’re just getting better at shining me on?)

All the DIY recipes I found on the beach or saw people making this week were all duplicates, so I was actually slightly taken aback when Francine was making a small wooden partition. That’s new! Guess there’s still a handful of them out there to learn yet…

Just a few days after Sherb’s birthday was Genji’s, and I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised that Tank was hanging around his place. Tank is even more of a fitness bro than Genji is! At least Genji can occasionally talk about other things. Anyway, Nook’s Cranny had a skateboard on sale the other day so I thought that might be perfect for him, and Genji totally loved it. He literally said that I get him, I totally get him. Made me feel all warm inside.

By the end of the week, Flurry’s empty plot of land had already been bought up by someone. I hadn’t bothered looking for anyone to bring to Xanadu and left it up to the fates. The thing is, I think I’ve heard of Coco, and she’s the creepy bunny that looks like a zombie. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think I am!
