Dear Diary,

This was a week full of highs and lows. A long-awaited achievement, but also some disappointment. But that’s life, right?

The week kicked off with another Fishing Tourney. I missed the last one so I was eager to participate this time because I still don’t have the gold fishing trophy. And… I still don’t. I didn’t get to start until late, so I was only able to get in like, a half a dozen rounds. So I got a few more rewards, but nothing new. And the next day… no gold trophy. Maybe next time?

During her announcements, Isabelle mentioned we’d have shooting stars at night, so I made a special note to come back out and make some wishes and get a new DIY off of Celeste. Unfortunately, after a few trips around the island, I saw absolutely no sign of Celeste anywhere. So I just made a few wishes and called it a night. Sigh.

On the plus side, I had this dartboard burning a hole in my pocket and so I decided to give it to Apollo because it seemed like the kind of thing he might enjoy. And much to my delight, not only did he happily accept, he thanked me by giving me his photo! Woot!

Of course, while hanging up Apollo’s photo and taking a photo of it, that naturally meant that I was home for too long and someone would come knocking. Thankfully, it was Ace, who I am still surprised hasn’t given me his photo. He’s been around longer than Apollo! So I let him come in and we hung out for a bit. Still no photo from Ace, though…

Literally the day after he cemented our friendship by giving me his photo, Apollo told me he was going to move away. I guess he knows my plan! But even though I now have his photo, I wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye to him yet. Next time I’ll let him go, but I like my grumpy old bird!

This week was also Sherb’s birthday. Robin was his guest, which I found slightly surprising as I can’t imagine Robin putting up with Sherb’s silliness, but maybe opposites really do attract! Anyway, I gave him a tin robot for a present, and he seemed to really appreciate it. Anything for one of my oldest friends on the island!
