Dear Diary,
Here we are in the dead of winter but it’s not nearly as quiet as you’d expect. Heck I even discovered you can still teach an old man new DIYs!
As you might recall, Robin decided to move away at the end of last week. Even though I wished her well then, I still wanted to pop in as she was packing up to say one last goodbye. She really grew on me over time and I’ll miss her sassy spark.
Every day I will pop in on some of my neighbors here and there and usually find someone cooking or crafting something. But after five years, I’ve basically got all the DIYs. So when Patty told me she was crafting a cherry dress I assumed I already got that one ages ago. But as they say, you know what happens when you assume…! Not like I’m ever likely to craft and/or wear a cherry dress, but it’s still nice to know there are still things to learn!
By the middle of the week I met my new neighbor. When I saw Vesta’s name on the construction it was familiar and I somehow knew she was a sheep but couldn’t think where I knew her from. I figured she was an old neighbor from a previous town, but when I spoke with her, it turns out Vesta is from nieces’ island, Ogunquitt!
Patty grabbed my attention and asked me if I would deliver a present to Genji for her. Always happy to help make a love connection, I played delivery boy. But it turned out she bought him a plaid puffed-sleeve shirt which… well, let’s just say it didn’t suit Genji at all. And I couldn’t bring myself to lie and tell him it looked fine for fear he’d actually wear it outside. And then I couldn’t bring myself to go back to Patty to tell her how it went… I’m a terrible liar!
I found a stylish bag on the ground and my first thought is that it would belong to Robin… if she still lived here. So it ended up being Lopez’s. So the reward didn’t even matter. Just happy to help my boyfriend out!
